- Hear the birds in Crooked Tree
- Discover the ATM caves
- Snorkel in Hol Chan Reserve
Belize takes to heart its motto; no shirt, no shoes, no problem! A laid-back country with a lively soul. On this action-packed adventure we visit a 'Mayan underworld' cave system, swim in sapphire sinkholes and don snorkels to discover a myriad of underwater colour - manatees, nurse sharks, stingrays and turtles share the turquoise water. As if Belize isn't enough, we cross into Guatemala to visit two important Mayan ruins, Tikal and Uaxactun.
What makes this trip responsible?
Whilst camping, camp staff prepare breakfasts and dinners using food obtained in local markets, ensuring money is spent in the local community. There are various opportunities for interaction with locals. We will meet with a ranger from the Toledo Institute for Development and Education (TIDES) to learn about conservation work in the Toledo area.
