- Explore spicetown of Cochin
- Interact with playful elephants
- Spend a night on a houseboat
We begin this adventure exploring the old fishing port of Cochin, where nowadays boats can still be seen sailing past huge Chinese fishing nets. From India's most elaborately decorated temple complex at Madurai we then visit Periyar National Park, home to an abundance of colourful birdlife and an array of wildlife. For many the highlight is the overnight trip on board a traditional houseboat along the backwaters of Kerala, followed by the chance to relax on a beautiful tropical beach.
What makes this trip responsible?
For every person travelling on this trip, GBP3 is donated to a schools project which provides additional income to government-run schools who benefit greatly from this extra funding. The donation, in part, goes towards funding pupils at a school in Betalghat - providing uniforms for children who currently cannot attend in cold weather through lack of adequate clothing, as well as school props such as maps, blackboards, water filters and other stationery.
