MARRAKECH & THE SAHARA
Do not choose this trip if you dislike long minibus journeys. Every place we visited was excellent, but I was hugely disappointed by the amouunt of time spent in transit. Maybe too great a distance for a short holiday?
Most Inspirational Moment
Most surprising - finding sheeps testicles on my plate during an excellent New Years Eve dinner in Zagora.(Yes we all tried them)Best Day - into the High Atlas to visit the semi derelict Pasha's palace (read up on him and 20thC history before you go) then on to the Gite.Best memory - Wandering around Marrakesh as night falls - no problems at all if you are on your own, as the people are lovely.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Rashid was always charming, cheerful, available and well organised - an excellent leader. Very passionate about a good future for Morocco, improving education in the rural areas etc.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Camping in the desert is unbelievably cold in December - January - take thermals/hat/gloves etc, and loose trousers on the camel ride or suffer!Polish up your French if you want to chat to local people Agree the price before you start a taxi journey, and stick to it. Otherwise the driver simply makes up a number.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: DOBBIACO
I have been to Dobbiaco 4 times. Twice with Exodus. The hotel Tschurschentaler was fine. The owners and staff were very nice and helpful. They went to a lot of trouble to provide us with lovely Tirolean food. Dobbiacco is a lovely and very intertesting village/town to be based in. David, one of the leaders organised a visit to the cheese coop factory. So we learnt something about mountain tradtions and livelihoods. The X country ski areas runs are mostly in beautiful surrounding and you can understand why people are drawn to this area. I would go back to this area again because the scenery is spectacular.
Most Inspirational Moment
the snowy landscape it is breath taking
Thoughts on Group Leader
I felt my group leader could have been a bit more engaged with us and given a bit more instruction.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Be prepared to have varying snow conditions and feel free to do different things, e.g walking on the winter foot paths. Explore Dobbiaco. Enjoy the regional cuisine

Fantastic. The whole trip was perfectly organised. From being met at the airport to our bags always being at the relivant stop on time etc.Our guide was great. Very friendly and certanly knew his stuff! The trip wasnt quite as demanding as I was expecting. But that is by no means Exodus’ fault. I would without question recommend Exodus to friends and family, Im planning on using them again this year.

Best one yet. Consumate professional; her preparation made all the difference, she was a mine of local knowledge, very atttentive to the needs of all the group members and great company.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Get to the lovely local ceramicist's shop much better and for some things cheaper than the mass produced tourist fare in the larger towns. Antonio in the local bar will feed you very well, rustic and lots of it.

INCA TRAIL & THE AMAZON RAINFOREST
The best trip we have ever been on! Particularly well led by our local guide who was both well informed and good at his job, but also managed to have the human touch as well.
Most Inspirational Moment
1. Giant sloth appearing above us in the jungle on the night-time animal hunt.2. The clouds parting above Macchu Picchu
Thoughts on Group Leader
Juan was outstanding. He was well informed in all aspects of history, geography, wildlife etc but also fulfilled his role as group leader admirably, inspiring confidence as well as interest.
Advice for Potential Travellers
When it says camping, it means high quality tented accommodation. Equipment portering, tea in the morning and superb meals is not what I normally understand by 'camping'......And don't be put off by the apparent length or altitude of the walk. The guides will lead you through it whatever your ability!

Santosh was brilliant - enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and taking in his stride all the myriad small (and large) crises that came our way. A lovely guy who really made the trip special.
