Trogir Dubrovnik
Fly to Split; transfer to Trogir, overnight in the centre of the old walled town
Fly to Split. On arrival, we take a short transfer to the Unesco-listed town of Trogir. We stay in the old walled part of this charming town.
Accommodation: Hotel Tragos (or similar)
Start Split Airport
The adventure starts our hotel in the UNESCO-listed town of Trogir, a 10-minute drive from Split Airport. We’ll be staying in the atmospheric old walled part of town.

Explore Trogir; transfer to Split, free time in Split before a ferry ride to Korcula
We look around Trogir in the early morning before a short transfer to Split, another Unesco-listed city. There will be free time in the beautiful old centre before we catch a catamaran in the late afternoon to Korcula island (approximately 2hr to 2hr 30min).
The medieval walled town here, reputedly the birthplace of Marco Polo, is often described as a mini-Dubrovnik. Like the larger city, it is a warren of small lanes and alleys: a great place to explore and a photographer’s paradise. After, we take a short transfer to the village of Lumbarda, where our hotel is situated.

Circular walk around Lumbarda village and wine tasting
It’s time to stretch our legs and roam the surrounding area of Lumbarda. We walk through vineyards and olive groves and admire beautiful beaches, where we can stop for a drink or a quick swim. We also visit the renowned Grk winery to sample local wines. In the evening, we transfer to Korcula town for dinner.

Travel by boat to Mljet Island; walk to the peak of Montokuc for panoramic views
After breakfast, we transfer to Korcula in time for the catamaran to Mljet Island, whose national park status has ensured limited development. The island is a tranquil place to walk, cloaked in forest, and dotted with tiny hamlets. Our goal today is the peak of Montokuc (840ft/256m), which offers panoramic views of the beautiful Dalmatian Coast, and to enjoy a picnic lunch on the island, before returning to our Korcula hotel. The path on the way up to Montokuc is rocky, good walking shoes are required to walk this route. Those who do not wish to walk up Montokuc can take a flat circular walk around the lake, have a swim and enjoy a drink overlooking the water.
If the catamaran cannot operate due to bad weather, there are alternative excursions, or we will stay on Korcula island and visit Vela Spilja, one of the most important prehistoric archaeological sites in Europe.

Ferry to mainland; visit Ston en route to Dubrovnik
After breakfast, we transfer to the port and take a 15-minute ferry ride to the Peninsula Peljesac. Upon arrival, we drive along a scenic mountain road with views of the coast and vineyards. We stop at a farm and enjoy a local olive and produce tasting just next to the old town of Ston.
In Ston, we recommend walking up the magnificent old walls that overlook the town – the view from the top is fantastic. The town is also a seafood hotspot, the mussels and oysters here are among the best in the country. After, we transfer about 37mi (60km) to Dubrovnik where we have the rest of the day to relax. In the evening, we can go into the old town for dinner and a wander.

Dubrovnik city tour
We enjoy a full day in the remarkable old city of Dubrovnik, which includes visits to the Rector’s Palace and the Franciscan Monastery. Dubrovnik exudes old-world charm with a location right on the Adriatic, fine religious buildings surrounded by heavily fortified walls, and a jumble of red-tiled roofs.
The cobblestone streets of the old town, or Stari Grad, feature fountains, churches, palaces and museums – all built from the same light-coloured stone. There are no motor vehicles in the city but the streets come alive at night as locals and visitors stroll along Stradun, the main street.
Following the walking tour, you have time to walk along the city walls: this is optional and costs approximately €35 for entrance (or is included in the Dubrovnik Card).

Free day to relax in Dubrovnik, or take an optional trip to Lokrum and explore the surrounding area
We have a free day today. Relax in the many eateries or chill on the beach. Alternatively, enjoy an optional visit to Lokrum Island; a 20-minute boat ride will take you from the Old Town port to this beautiful green island, home to a botanic garden full of exotic plants. Bring your swimming costume and a good book – after your stroll, you will definitely want to enjoy a swim in the Adriatic.

We take a bus transfer to Dubrovnik airport for our return flight to London.

Take an Exodus transfer
Exodus provides one group arrival transfer from the airport, which is timed to coincide with the arrival of a chosen flight from London, UK. You may join this transfer at no extra cost, provided you can be at the airport before the transfer leaves. Speak to your sales representative for the group arrival transfer times or to arrange a private transfer.
Make your own way
You can reach the start hotel relatively easily by taxi or public transport. You can catch the number 37 bus, which runs every 20 minutes from outside Split Airport. Please prepare cash for the bus ticket, which you can buy on the bus and costs approximately €1.70. On arrival, please make the reception staff aware that you are part of the Exodus group and they will give you any necessary details on meeting with your group.

Catching your return flight
There’s a group departure transfer to Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) for customers who Exodus booked onto a chosen flight to London, UK. Please speak to your sales representative if you wish to join. On this cultural trip in Croatia, we normally stay in two- and three-star hotels. Our accommodations are well-located for our adventures and close to a variety of restaurants, allowing you to indulge in the local cuisine. Below are the hotels we typically use.
Trogir: Villa Fontana (night 1)
This 15-bedroom hotel has a prime location in the UNESCO-listed old town of Trogir, a five-minute walk from the Church of Saint Barbara and Park Eks Fanfogna. The rooms are modern and clean with free-to-use toiletries.
Korcula: Hotel Borik (nights 2-4)
For our three nights in Korcula, we stay in a family-run hotel in the quaint fishing village of Lumbarda. Be sure to pack your swimming costume, as there is a pool you can enjoy at the end of the day. It’s open seasonally, which may mean it’s closed for early and late season departures; thankfully, there’s a pebble beach 655ft (200m) from the hotel if you’re keen to swim.
Dubrovnik: Hotel Splendid (nights 5-7)
Our final nights of the trip are spent at the aptly named Hotel Splendid. The highlight may well be the hotel beach, where you can enjoy a refresher at the beach bar with views of Uvala Bay and, with good timing and a bit of luck, a beautiful sunset. There’s also a beachside restaurant serving traditional Dalmatian dishes.
Worth knowing

- On rare occasions in Trogir, we may need to split the group between several small hotels. All hotels are of equal quality and are situated within 165ft (50m) of each other.

I have never been to Croatia and did not know what to expect and was wonderfully surprised! It is a beautiful country with so much history and natural beauty. There is a lot of Italian architectures, beautiful beaches and history. The walks were gentle walks except went walking up the peak of Montokuc on Mljet Island which is challenging but there are other things to do on the Island. The food was amazing and produce locally. There is a good choice of vegetarian and vegan meals. I would definitely recommend this trip as it’s a nice introduction to Croatia.

Climbing the peak of Montokuc in the heat! It was hot and humid with no breeze. Once you got to the top, the view was amazing. Walking the City walls in Dubrovnik at sunset. The views were amazing especially when the sun was setting.

Advice for Potential Travellers
Good walking shoes as the paving in Croatia is slippery. Need walking boots as the trek up and down Montokuc was trip and slippery at times. There are no lifts at the hotels and there are loads of stairs. Purchase the Dubrovnik pass as it’s value for money. It’s you bus ticket for 3 days and have free entrances to the museums and city wall.
Been home for a week and have not stopped smiling.
Identifying the specific thing that makes this trip memorable is impossible. Croatia’s vibe is uniquely its own. The country and it’s people are welcoming, cosmopolitan, small town warmth, pragmatic and joyful all at once.
There’s was not a single second that was disappointing. The small group focus of the tour allowed for connecting with other tour members which enhanced the experience. Visiting small local businesses like the winery in Ston and Lumbarda felt like we were being welcomed into their homes.
Our tour leader was the amazing Vajna! If you are blessed to have her as your guide rest assured you are in fantastic hands, she is thoughtful, full of knowledge and I simply cannot say enough about Vajna or this trip!
I’ve been home for a week and have not stopped smiling.

Perfect Guidance
Croatia presented beautiful scenery and numerous historic sites, with local guides to explain it all. The hotels were acceptable, the breakfasts nothing to shout about. Our random group of travelers meshed well. But the real praise goes to our tour guide, Vanya, who treated us as family, carefully explained each day’s itinerary and made sure that we could concentrate on the sites and not on the logistics.

This was an enjoyable holiday, despite several disappointing issues. Good: The places visited were splendid; our guide, Mila, was excellent; and the members of our group were great company. Bad: The hotel (3 nts) in Korcula was awful. The hotel in Dubrovnik (3 nts) also had problems.

We are really grateful for David and Maureen’s review, and are glad that they enjoyed this trip and the sites they visited in Croatia, and that they were happy with their tour leader, Mila.
We are, however, very sorry to hear that they were disappointed with the hotels the group stayed at on this tour. We have been using the hotel in Lumbarda, Korcula for several years and have previously found it to be a pleasant, comfortable family-run hotel with a lovely location, which has received positive feedback from our groups in the past. A member of the Exodus team joined David and Maureen’s departure and did note that the property is looking a little tired at present, though. In Dubrovnik, we were looking to try a different property from our usual hotel, which we felt was well situated closer to the old town, which is the main attraction of our stay in the city. We have taken the issues that David and Maureen mention on board, and can confirm that we are reviewing these hotels and considering using different properties for departures of this trip in the upcoming holiday season.
We hope that this can show that we are taking David and Maureen’s concerns seriously and that we are proactive in sending our team members to regularly review our trips, in order to improve customer experience going forward. We very much hope that the rest of their holiday exceeded their expectations and that David and Maureen have some wonderful memories of Croatia overall.

Awe inspiring
You start this trip in Trogir, a 10 minute bus ride from Split airport, and no matter what time you arrive on the first day you are sure to recieve a warm welcome! The accommodation throughout the trip is excellent. Staying mainly in small family run hotels/ b&bs but a larger hotel chain in Lapad Bay in Dubrovnik. Vanja our tour leader was exceptional. She made she we were all clear on the itinerary and had us all organised for the transfers and group activities. There’s a great mix of organised fun, and time to explore or relax as desired. Everywhere you go in Croatia there seems to be another incredible view or piece of history . Throughly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to explore Croatia. Dubrovnik was a fabulous city to visit, beautiful to walk round and also a great place to people watch, while enjoying a coffee & cake! The views from the city walls were stunning. Korcula was also a real gem, we found a lovely little restaurant in one of the side streets during our evening visit and enjoyed a surprise city tour with a great local tour guide!

Vanja ("mama duck"!) was a great group leader who really went over and above to ensure we all had a great time. It was a big group - 20 people - and a mix of ages, couples and solo travellers, and she made sure we were all really well looked after. Even during her "downtime" she was checking on her "ducklings"!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Book this trip and enjoy every minute! I'd say this was suitable for most ages and fitness levels, there was a good balance of sightseeing, walking, ferry trips, cities & islands. Not forgetting tasting local wines, liqueurs and produce. Something for everyone.

The first time I have visited Croatia and although others had told me what a beautiful country it far exceeded my expectations. Although Trogir, Lumbarda, Split and Dubrovnik are the main destinations, the islands were absolutely beautiful. So many different experiences were offered: Catamarans/Ferries, Vineyards, Olive Groves, GRK Winery, Olive & Liquor Tasting & Beaches amongst many. It felt like I had been there much longer than a week, as we visited so many different attractions.. I was concerned initially about being part of a group of 15, but what an amazing group they were! The Hotels were fine, improving as we progressed, with the Hotel Splendid in Dubrovnik, excelling my expectations. Ivan, our guide was absolutely superb and so informative in the history of his country. His patience, assistance and management of such a large group was off the scale. He also had a great sense of humour! Be ‘warned’ – lots of walking and steps!! My Fitbit states: 126,836 steps, 96 km and 236 floors, but it was so worth it!! I can’t recommend this trip highly enough

Ivan, our guide was absolutely superb and so informative in the history of his country. His patience, assistance and management of such a large group was off the scale. He also had a great sense of humour and appeared to enjoy our company individually as well as the group as a whole. On some of the more tricky walks, he always made sure myself and others were OK and helped where needed.
Advice for Potential Travellers
The hotels do not have lifts, so be prepared for hiking your case up a few flights of stairs. Almost everywhere is accessed by countless steps and some of the terrain had large boulders to manoeuvre. The pavements in Dubrovnik are polished limestone and are slippery if you don't wear shoes/sandals with grippy soles. We were very luck with the weather and only had sun, but they would be lethal if raining.
